A Better Way to Brush
Holding a toothbrush is very difficult for a sick person and for those who have a rheumatoid arthritis that limits their hands strength.  Several years ago, there is someone suggested that try securing a tennis ball to your toothbrush handle.  Purchased a fresh can of balls, and cut two slits in one for inserting the toothbrush.  It worked perfectly!  When the ball gets wet, leave it on the sink to dry.  Just make sure to change the ball regularly.
Open Sesame!
There is another arthritis patient in his hands, and sometimes find it difficult to open a certain drawers and doors.  A great solution is that tying loops of ribbon on the handles, slipping them over your wrist and using the entire arm to pull them open.  The loops can merely utilitarian, or you can get creative and use decorative cording or braided yarn.  Even the refrigerator door opener fashioned from a leather shoestring.
